William Welling "Billy" Warfield, III, 79, of Crisfield, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at his home.

Born on Tangier, VA on December 9, 1944, he was a son of the late William W. "Bill" Warfield, Jr. and Frances Thomas Warfield. His first wife, Debbie Seyda Warfield, second wife, Barbara Jones Warfield and third wife, Edith Ann Warfield, preceded him in death.

Billy was a graduate of Crisfield High School and a US Army Veteran. He worked as an Inspector for Maryland State Highway for 30 years up until his retirement.

He was a member of the Crisfield Church of God and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his son, Andrew Warfield; step-children, Bonnie Matthews and husband Jim, James Aswell, III and wife Pati, Vonda Somers, and Neil Somers; brother, Mark Warfield and wife Linda; grandchildren, Davey Warfield and wife Shaunda, Anthony Warfield and wife Danielle, Brian Matthews and fiancé Destiny, Gabrielle Matthews, Natalie Evans and husband Brad, Jamie Aswell and wife Kelly, and Kelsey Sterling; great-grandchildren, Sophie Warfield, Bradley Warfield, Stella Warfield, Zach Hill, Kaileigh Matthews, Harlow Matthews, Meredith Evans, Elise Aswell, Lydia Aswell, Addison Aswell, Delaney Aswell; sister-in-law, Liz Warfield; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.

Along with his parents and his wives, he was preceded in death by a son, David Warfield; a brother, Tony Warfield; and his sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Tommy Walston.

A private memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
