William Theodore "Ted" Smith, 74, of Crisfield passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020 at McCready Health.

Born in Crisfield on December 7, 1945, he was a son of the late Etheridge Ewell and Georgianna Maddox Smith.

Ted was a US Air Force veteran and served during the Vietnam Era. He worked in office admissions at UMES for 36 years and retired in 2008. He enjoyed gardening, working outdoors, and was a big sports fan who loved the Ravens and Orioles.

He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Regeana Marie Scarim Smith of Crisfield; son, Christopher Ewell Smith of Crisfield; siblings, Mary Thomas of Delmar, Connie Eisenhauer of Crisfield, Nellie Hinman of Crisfield, Etheridge Ewell Smith, Jr. and wife Dee of Baltimore, Emily Alexander and husband Terry of Pocomoke, and Georgia Evans of Crisfield; special friends, Harvey Tyler, Jimmy Ward, and Jamie Byrd; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Collins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
