William Thomas "Billy" Lawrence, 53, of Crisfield, died Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.

Born in Crisfield on July 9, 1958, he was a son of Fay Elliott Lawrence of Crisfield and the late Donald Lee Lawrence, Sr., who died May 2, 1992.

A graduate of Crisfield High School Class of 1976, he was a clerk at Wicomico County Dispensary Store #3, and formerly worked for many years at Carvel Hall Cutlery until their closing.

He was an animal rights activist who loved all his animals. He was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens fan and enjoyed making people laugh.

He is survived by his mother, Fay Elliott Lawrence of Crisfield; his brothers and sisters, Donald Lee Lawrence, Jr. and his wife Mary of Pennsburg, PA, April Ford of Milton, DE, and Judy Lawrence, Cindy Gerald and her husband Fritz, and Dickie Lawrence, all of Crisfield; nieces and nephews, Andrew Lawrence, Deborah Lawrence, Stephanie McCready, Charles Ford and Candace Ford; great nieces and nephews, Steven Pilkerton, Jr., Jordan McCready, Alexis McCready, Damien Ford, Alyssa McCready, Cheyenne Ford and Chelsea Ford; great-great niece, Allaiah Pilkerton; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call Tuesday evening from 7-9 PM and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
