"Bill" Horstman

William E. "Bill" Horstman, 98, of Salisbury, died Friday, January 21, 2022 at his home.
Born in Crisfield December 9, 1923 and raised in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Warren Guy Horstman and Maude H. Dize Horstman. His wife, Eloise Edna "Lois" von Staden Horstman died November 25, 2010.
He attended Edison Trade School and the Maryland Institute of Art. He worked 30 years with the Social Security Administration in Woodlawn and retired as deputy director of the graphics department.
Mr. Horstman was a US Army veteran of WWII, and was a member of Immanuel U. M. Church while in Crisfield, Mt. Vernon Place U. M. Church while in Baltimore, and Trinity U. M. Church during his residency in Salisbury. Active in his community, he was a member of the Somerset County Arts Council, served two terms as President of the AARP Crisfield Chapter, served on the Board of Directors of the Crisfield Heritage Foundation and Somerset Community Services, and was a volunteer at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
He is survived by several cousins, in-laws, care givers, and friends.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, David W. Horstman on August 23, 1989; and his sister, Gloria Elaine Horstman in 2002.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Dale Vroman will be Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a visitation will be one hour prior. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
