WILLIAM EDWARD "BILL" BROWN, SR.
WILLIAM EDWARD "BILL" BROWN, SR., 68, of Tangier Island, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at his home.
Born in Baltimore on July 20, 1942, he was a son of the late Richard W. Brown and Thelma E. Parks Brown Pruitt.
He was a waterman and served with the Corps of Engineers for 8 years in the 80's. He enjoyed working with his tools and building things. He was a faithful member of Swain Memorial United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Jane Wheatley Brown of Tangier; three sons, William E. Brown, Jr. of Tangier, Gregory Brown of Chesapeake, VA and Michael Allen Brown of Hebron, MD; a brother, Frank "Hoot" Pruitt of Tangier; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Violet Parks.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 2 PM at Swain Memorial United Methodist Church on Tangier where friends may call Wednesday evening from 7-9 PM. The Rev's Charles "Chuck" Parks and Patricia Stover will officiate and will be assisted by Mr. William Eskridge. Interment will be in the Brown Family Cemetery.
