WILLIAM TERRY "AUBREY" MARSHALL, 71, of Tangier Island, Virginia, died Saturday, May 23, 2009 at his home.

Born on Tangier Island September 27, 1937, he was a son of the late Homer "Coolie" Marshall and Margaret Parks Dise.

He was a waterman and a US Navy veteran. He was a member of Swain Memorial United Methodist Church and the Tangier V.F.W. Post.

He is survived by his wife, Mona Eskridge Marshall of Tangier; a son, Jan Marshall of Salisbury; a daughter, Fern Parks of Pocomoke City; a brother, Tim Marshall of Tangier; two sisters, Fern Parks and Marsha McCready, both of Tangier; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ted Marshall.

Funeral services officiated by The Rev. John R. Jones and Mr. William T. Eskridge, Jr. will be held Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 2 PM at Swain Memorial United Methodist Church on Tangier where friends may call Wednesday evening from 7-9 PM. Interment will be in the Eskridge Family Cemetery.
