WAYNE ELTON THOMAS, 65, of Salisbury, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 31, 2007 from Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born in Crisfield on February 19, 1942, he was a son of the late William Lee "Captain Bill" Thomas and the late Virginia Howard ReDavid. He had been a resident of Salisbury for 40 years.
A contractor and an avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Berlin. He was a dedicated Christian who loved professing his love of his Savior.
He is survived by five sisters and brothers, Hilda Mae Thomas Dennis of Salisbury, Allen Lee "Johnny" Thomas and wife Dona of Owings Mills, MD, Tyrone Thomas and wife Margaret of Salisbury, Jeannie Thomas Hickman and husband Louis of Crisfield and Ricky Thomas and wife Jodi of Crisfield; three step-siblings, Allen Tilghman of Myrtle Beach, SC, David King of Willards and Patricia Brumbley of Salisbury; two grandchildren, Wayne and Mona Campbell of Berlin; son-in-law, Frank Campbell of Berlin; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mona Rae Sterling Thomas who died giving birth in 1962 to his daughter, Lana Jean Thomas Campbell, who later died in 2003. His stepmother, Elsie Cox Thomas, and his brother, William Lee Thomas, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 2:30 PM at the Crisfield Church of God. The Rev.'s Paul Timmons, Raymond Crowley and Philip Morris will officiate. Friends may call Friday evening from 7-9 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery in Marion Station.
