Obituary

Warren Edwin "Ed" Owens, III, 66, of Salisbury, died Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Tidal Health Peninsula Regional Center.

Born in Crisfield on March 16, 1955, he was a son of Madlyn Faye Owens of Crisfield and the late Warren Edwin Owens, Jr. who died June 7, 1970. Ed had been making his home in Salisbury for more than 35 years.

He was a graduate of the Crisfield High School Class of 1973 and attended Salisbury University where he pursued an education in Business Management.

Ed began his career working at Rubberset Corporation in Inventory Control and Riggin's IGA Grocery. Later, he became Production Manager for Mountaire Farms, Operations Manager for Brown Derby Convenience Stores, Lowe's, finally retiring as Store Manager for Food Lion where he worked for many years.

His memberships included Kiwanis and Salisbury Ruritan, where he served as past president. Also, he donated his time to Habitat for Humanity and supported local Humane Societies. He enjoyed gardening, adored cats, watched 1970's sitcom reruns, and loved coming home to Crisfield for family parties and gatherings, and joyfully celebrating the Christmas season. Ed had a very big heart, a generous spirit, and had a great love for his mother, Madlyn.

He is survived by his mother, Madlyn Faye Tyler Owens of Crisfield; his siblings, Melba Harrison of Salisbury, Carolyn Ragan and husband Herbie of Salisbury, Sarah Ward and husband Joseph of Crisfield, Faye Tyler of Salisbury, Earl Owens of Crisfield, and Marjorie Wroten and husband Bill of Crisfield; nieces and nephews, Stanford Reuben "Joey" Harrison, IV of Salisbury, Kelly Elisabeth Ragan of Salisbury, Kayla Elyse Ragan of Salisbury, Ashley Nicole Wroten of Salisbury, William "Will" Wroten, IV of Crisfield, and Winter Joey Ward of Crisfield, several great-nieces and great-nephews, and multiple great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Warren Edwin Owens, Sr. and Augusta Mae Sterling Owens; maternal grandparents, Jack Mitchell Tyler, Sr. and Addie Lee Powell Tyler; and his maternal aunt, Sharon Rose Tyler.

A Rite of Christian Burial will be Monday, July 5, 2021 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be one hour prior. Father Edward Aigner will officiate.  Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to his mother, Madlyn Owens, 2814 Calvary Road, Crisfield, MD 21817.
