Wanda Marie Dize, 90, of Crisfield, died Saturday, September 9, 2017 at McCready Memorial Hospital. She had been a resident at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.

Born in Crisfield December 27, 1926 and raised on Smith Island, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Adelaide Wesley Middleton.

A homemaker, she was a deaf mute who graduated from the Maryland School for the Deaf in Frederick, MD. She moved to Mississippi in 1950, and eventually returned to Crisfield.

A very giving person, she was an avid crocheter who loved to share her craft with others. She also gave generously to numerous charities.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Dize of Charlotte, NC; her grandson, Steven Tyler of Accomac, VA; her adopted son, Harvey Tyler of Crisfield; her adopted daughter, Phyllis Miley of Crisfield; her extended family, Danny and Vera Tyler, and Ellen and Asher Daisey, all of Crisfield; her adopted grandchildren, Christen Tyler, Carl and Lindsay Tyler, and Charlie Tyler; her adopted great grandchildren, Danielle Burke, Owen Monroe, and Carly Tyler; and several cousins.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Frankie Tyler in 2003.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be one hour prior. The Rev. Stephen S. Willing will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
