Walter Thomas "Tommy" Jones, 73, of Crisfield, died Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.

Born in Crisfield on August 12, 1943, he was a son of the late Calvin "Jack" Jones and Estelle Marie Lee Jones.

A hard worker, he was a retired waterman and owner of the former Jones' Market. He was a member of the Crisfield Church of God.  He loved his work and he loved his church.  He also enjoyed carpentry, going to Gordon's, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Nellie Dawn Jones of Crisfield; his son, Tom Jones and wife Sara of Crisfield; three step-children, Harold Pruitt and Mike Pruitt of Tangier and Chris Landon of Check, VA; his sister, Betty Balderson and husband Bill of Crisfield; four grandchildren, Jessica Jones, Hannah Jones, Ella Jones, and Jack Jones; step-grandchildren, Trent Pruitt, Taylor Pruitt, Rochelle Crockett, Isabella Landon, Justin Landon, Leigh Shores and husband Jim, Parker Shores, Tyler Pruitt and Paige Pruitt; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters, Barbara Warfield, Alice Faye "Kitty" Crockett, Daisy Mae Johnson, Ralph "Burnie" Jones, and Calvin "Bud" Jones.

A memorial service officiated by Reverends John Thorne and Bob Daniels will be Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 3 PM at the Crisfield Church of God. A visitation will be one hour prior.
