WALLACE "BUNK" LANDON, 72, of Crisfield, died Monday, August 18, 2008 at his home on Jacksonville Road in Crisfield.
Born in Crisfield on February 20, 1936, he was a son of the late Charles Christopher and Erma Ward Landon. His wife, Betty Lou Landon, died November 18, 2007.
A US Army veteran, "Bunk" worked at the former Sweetheart Bakery in Crisfield until it was destroyed by fire. He was also the owner of the former Bunk's 76 Gas Station in Crisfield, and he later retired from the former Hudson Foods where he was a grain mill operator.
He loved gardening, especially growing tomatoes, and was an avid NASCAR fan. He was very devoted to his family.
He is survived by six children and their spouses, Cheryl and David McIntyre, Timmy Landon, Laura Goldsborough, Wallace, Jr. and Jennifer Landon, Irma Stromberger, and Henry and Amy Landon, all of Crisfield; ten grandchildren, David McIntyre, Jr., Keith Goldsborough, Danny Goldsborough, Kelly Goldsborough, Leah Marshall, Heather Landon, Catherine Stromberger, Josh Landon, Christopher Landon and Henry Landon, Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Alyson, Austin and Robbie Goldsborough; his special caregiver, Michelle Goldsborough; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Landon, Sr., and his sister, Frances "Tink" Bradshaw.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 22, 2008 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. The Rev. Samuel Horner will officiate. Friends may call Thursday evening from 7-9 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery in Marion Station.
