IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vivian "Melanie"
Guy
January 21, 1978 – December 22, 2025
Vivian "Melanie" Guy, 47, of Smith Island, MD, passed away peacefully at Bay Harbor Post Acute and Rehabilitation Center in Salisbury.
Born in Crisfield on January 21, 1978, she was a daughter of the late Gene Guy and Beverly Rose Tyler Guy.
Melanie was a graduate of Crisfield High School class of 1996. She worked many years at the Bayside Inn Restaurant on Smith Island and cherished the friendships she made while working there. In her childhood years she worked in the crab picking houses on Smith Island.
She loved all music but Toby Keith was her #1. She loved animals, especially her cat, "Kallie Lee", she was an avid Chicago Bears fan, and FaceBook was her favorite pass-time.
Melanie never met a stranger. She truly loved people, and was friends with all she came into contact with. She would immediately light up any room she entered and her personality radiated positivity in spite of the trials she faced.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fred and Bernice Guy and John and Rose Tyler; and her brother, Gary Gene Guy.
She is survived by her uncles and aunt, Henry and Katie Guy, and William Reed Evans; many other family members including special cousins, Dana Insley, Mikayla Insley-Evans and Elijah "Brother" Insley-Evans; and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to help the family with final expenses may be made to Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home, 306 W. Main Street, Crisfield, MD 21817.
