Obituary

Virginia Lee Dryden, 80, of Crisfield, died Thursday, April 7, 2016 at her home.

Born in Crisfield October 25, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Preston and Emma Abbott Sterling. Her husband, Willis H. Dryden, Sr. died January 4, 2013.

She was the deli manager at the former Riggin's Grocery in Crisfield; she truly loved working there and cherished relationships made over the years. A selfless person who always put others first, she enjoyed flowers, shopping, collecting roosters and chickens, and her favorite holiday, Christmas. Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Nancy Lemler and husband Bob of Chambersburg, PA, Kenny Sterling of Crisfield, Iva Jean Riggin and husband Jay of Crisfield, Reggie Sterling and wife Beverly of Salisbury, and Ronnie Sterling and wife Melinda of Crisfield; a step-son, Willis Dryden, Jr. and wife Andrea and their daughters, Mallory, Madison, and Molly of Marion; grandchildren, Kristal Ivey of NC, Kenny Sterling, III of NC, Reggie Sterling, Jr. of Crisfield, Traci Sterling of Salisbury, Kelly Sterling of Crisfield, Scott Sterling of Crisfield, and Jordan Bradford of Salisbury; a sister, Judy Evans of Marion; a sister-in-law, Marlene Adkins of Crisfield; special friends, Mike Horsey, Lois Riggin, Ellen Ward, Edie Schreiber, and Donna Lemler; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Richard Sterling; and two sisters, Dorothy Somers and Frances Swift.

Funeral services officiated by the Rev. Harvey Tyler will be Monday, April 11, 2016 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where a viewing will be one hour prior. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
