VIOLA MAE "VOTIE" HOWARD YODER, 91, of Westover, died Friday, April 22, 2011 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.

Born in Crisfield, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Agnes Matthews Howard. Her husband of 67 years, Emory J. Yoder, preceded her in death April 26, 2005.

A homemaker, she was a former member of Holly Grove Mennonite Church and attended the Crisfield Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed collecting miniature lamps, thimbles, spoons and dolls. She was a talented quilter and loved working with flowers.

She is survived by five children, Carl Yoder, Elsie Harr and her husband Jim, and Becky Nelson and her husband Oliver, all of Westover, Alberta Willing and her husband Pete of Boyertown, PA, and Mary Evans and her husband Curtis of Sanford, VA; sons-in-law, Ronnie Parks of Westover and Paul Migala of Boyertown; sisters, Mary Derr of SC and Mildred Thomas of Glen Burnie; 19 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three daughters, Mildred Migala, Ethel Williams and Norma Jean "Jeannie" Parks; sisters and brothers, Virgie Johnson, Alberta Stigall, Dorothy Walls, Ida Cox, Pearl Taylor, James Howard, Harry Howard and Willie Howard; a grandson, Gregory Harr; and a daughter-in-law, Ann Chandler Yoder.

Funeral services officiated by Rev. Art Good and Eddie Daniels will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM. Interment will be in Holly Grove Mennonite Church Cemetery.
