VINCENT JOSEPH JORDAN (Lt. Col. USAF RET), age 93, of Crisfield, and formerly of Chester, NY, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at his home.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on July 6, 1919, he was the son of the late Vincent and Anna Nina DelVecchio Giordano. His beloved wife, Virginia Farr "Gini" Jordan, preceded him in death on October 14, 2010.

Vince joined the Army as a 16 year old private, was inducted into the Army Air Corps, and retired from the Air Force 30 years later as a Lt. Col. During his military career, he flew the Burma Hump, Berlin Airlift, and was a test pilot for jet aircraft. As a second career, he was a buyer broker real estate agent. After retirement, Vince and Gini traveled in search of a warm place to settle, finding Crisfield's people and weather warm and welcoming. He became a member of the Marion Baptist Church, the Stanley Cochrane American Legion Post #16, Crisfield Elks Lodge #1044, and the Crisfield Lions Club.

Vince appreciated how aviation enriched both his professional and private life. His two loves were his wife, Gini, and flying.

He is survived by a son, Vincent Jordan, III and his wife Eleanor of Marion; two daughters, Ann Willis of Monroe, NY and Linda McKenna and her husband Gary of Fairport, NY; three grandchildren, Anna Clover and her husband Dean, Dale Willis, and Lisa Jordan; and a brother, Robert Giordano of Vineland, NJ and his children Dawn and Karen.

A service celebrating Vince's life will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 2 PM at Marion Baptist Church. Urn interment will be in the American Legion Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Marion Baptist Church, 5833 Crisfield Highway, Marion, MD 21838.
