Vernon Earl Berry, 83, of Crisfield, MD and formerly of Marion Station, MD and New Jersey, died Thursday, September 7, 2023 at his home.

Born in Washington, New Jersey on May 10, 1940, he was a son of the late Vernon Emerson Berry and Estelle Virginia Peterson Berry.  He had been making his home on the Eastern Shore of Maryland since 1979.

Mr. Berry was a poultry farmer for many years and was also retired from the former Ma-Tech Corporation.  He enjoyed the simple things in life including raising pigs, rabbits and cows on the family farm, hunting, and coaching his sons Little League team in his younger years.  He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, enjoyed listening to older country western music, and loved spending time with his beloved pet dog Molly.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Ann Hackman Berry of Crisfield; a son, Douglas Arthur Berry and wife Sherry of Camden, SC; a daughter, Kimberly May Bruno and husband Barry of Princess Anne, MD; grandchildren, April Finkley (Edward), Anna McGhee (Mikeal), Elizabeth Berry, Melissa Seel (Ricky), Timothy Berry (Heather), Kaitlynn Mills, and Maddison Bruno;14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Berry; three brothers, Dick, Dave and Charlie Berry; and a great-granddaughter, Delilah.

Funeral services officiated by Rev. Stephen S. Willing will be Friday, September 22, 2023 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where a visitation will be one hour prior.  Interment will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery in Marion, MD.
