TONY M. WARFIELD, SR., 55, of Crisfield, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Born in Crisfield June 25, 1955, he was a son of the late William Welling "Bill" Warfield, Jr. and Frances L. Thomas Warfield.

He was a K-9 Correctional Officer at Eastern Correctional Institution in Westover working 24 ½ years until his retirement in April of this year.

He was a faithful member of the Crisfield Church of God where he was an Elder, past Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and was very active in all areas including Men on a Mission, Praise Team, Choir and witnessing to name a few.

He enjoyed fishing, dogs, and he loved to cook. He was a devoted husband, father, and his grandchildren were his joy. He made time for each and every one of them.

He is survived by his wife of almost 34 years, Elizabeth "Liz" Paparella Warfield of Crisfield; his son, Tony M. Warfield, Jr. and wife Trish of Crisfield; five grandchildren, Joshua, Adrianna, Jenna, Anthony and Caleb; brothers, William "Billy" Warfield, III and wife, Edith of Crisfield, and Pastor Mark Warfield and wife, Linda of Jarrettsville, MD; nephews and nieces, Jason Walston, Tammy Campbell, Andrew Warfield, William Warfield, Mark Warfield and wife Linda, Gina Gibson and husband Mark, and Jill Liapiatte and husband Scott; a cousin and friend, Tony Szwec and wife Dorothy of Crisfield; numerous cousins and other relatives; and a host of friends.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Warfield Walston, who died in 1978.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 17th at 1:00 PM at the Crisfield Church of God. The Rev. Harvey Tyler and Rev. Philip Morris will officiate. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home Thursday from 7 to 9 PM.
