Obituary

Therese (Terri) Ann Sprosty Chelton was born on June 18, 1952 in Parma, Ohio, the youngest daughter of Clarence and Margaret Sprosty. Terri passed into the loving hands of our Lord on February 16, 2024, at her home in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida after a yearlong battle with recurrent breast cancer.

Terri received her Bachelor's Degree in elementary education from Kent State University and her Master's Degree in reading from Florida International University. Terri was a teacher for almost fifty years, the past thirty-six years at Floranada Elementary School in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She touched many lives of students and teachers during her career as an educator. Terri's passion was teaching, and according to her coworkers Terri was Floranada Elementary's "Rock Star".

Terri made lasting friendships easily due to her warm and inviting personality. Her other passions were her feline "fur babies", raising six kittens to adulthood. She once joked her order of importance in life were her cats, teaching, and then, her husband!

Terri was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert A. Sprosty; and her brother-in-law, William Fischer.

Terri is survived by her husband, Bruce Chelton; her sister, Margaret (Peggy) Fischer; her sister-in-law, Barbara Sprosty; her nieces, Lauren Monori and husband Aryan, and Erin Fischer; her nephew, Robby Sprosty and wife Ashley; great-niece, Kayla Monori; and great-nephews, Cole Monori, Lucas Sprosty and Thomas Sprosty.

Celebrations of life will be arranged at later dates in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Crisfield, Maryland.

Rest in peace, my beloved wife.

Donations may be given to breast cancer research.
