Theresa Lawson Sommers, 82, of Pocomoke City, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at her home.

Born in Crisfield, MD on September 16, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Paul Lawson and Rose Lawson Arvay.

She was retired from the Chase Manhattan Bank.

Theresa enjoyed cooking, going to the Pocomoke Elks Club, and going out to dinner with her husband and friends. She also adored her beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, "Lucy".

She is survived by her husband, Terry Douglas Sommers, Sr. of Pocomoke City; four children, Terri Creswell (Pete) of Perryville, MD, Robin Willey (Dale) of Clayton, DE, Joseph Lewis Dominick, IV of Newark, DE, and Barbara DiRocco of Newark, DE; 10 grandchildren, Teddy, Keith, Lia, Joey, Maria, Olivia, Zac, Nick, Alyssa, and Gianna; 11 great-grandchildren, Justin, Marissa, Lucas, Declan, Emily, Jamison, Liam, Luke, Jackson, Jade, and Zoe; her brothers and sister, Bob Lawson, Susan Lily, Jay Parks, Butch Lawson, and Michael Arvay; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her best friend, Maggie Hostler of Georgia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Joseph Lewis Dominick, III in 1998; her second husband, Ray Alvarez in 2000; a sister, Pauline Lawson Osterburg; and a brother, James Lawson.
