Obituary

Rev. Terry D. Riggin, 84, of Salisbury and formerly of Crisfield, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Snow Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Crisfield December 8, 1938, he was a son of the late Elmer and Carrie Hundley Riggin.  His wife, Barbara Ann Swift Riggin, preceded him in death on January 1, 2018.

He was an accountant at his firm Riggin & Associates in Salisbury.  In the early 2000's he became an ordained minister and was the Pastor of the former Crisfield Evangelical Christian Church which later became Crisfield Evangelical Wesleyan Church following their Wesleyan affiliation.  He spearheaded and was very proud of the new church building on the property. He went on to serve as Associate Pastor of several other churches in the area.

Terry had a passion for bringing people to the Lord.  He also had a great love for the water and especially enjoyed boating and being with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Arlene Gerstenmaier and husband Eric of Salisbury; son, Carroll Swift of CA; granddaughter, Laura Gerstenmaier and husband Jackson Tyndall of Salisbury; brother, Reginald Riggin and wife Mary Frances of Pocomoke; nephew, Jimmy Riggin of Salisbury; and a special cousin, Ruby Byrd of Marion.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Ryan Gerstenmaier on August 17, 2006.

A funeral service will be Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where a visitation will be one hour prior.  Pastor John Harrison will officiate and will be assisted by Pastor Robert "Buzz" Gregory and Reverend Dan Taylor.  Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
