Terry James Daley, 64, of Tangier Island, died Friday, March 1, 2013 at his home.

Born February 18, 1949 on Tangier, he was a son of the late James Gorden and Nettie Jean Laird Daley. He was co-owner along with his wife of Daley & Sons Grocery, Inc. since 1986. He was a charter member and was an assistant chief for 41 years of the Tangier Fire Department and he attended Swain Memorial United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joanne Parks Daley of Tangier; a son, Terry Daley, Jr. and wife Candice of Tangier; three grandchildren, Lance Daley, Hallie Daley, and Tara Daley, all of Tangier; a sister, Gloria Bays and husband Darrell of Onancock; a brother, Mickey Daley and wife Delores of Tangier; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law and his grandson, Stephanie and Jordan Wesley Daley.

Funeral services officiated by Rev. Patricia Stover and Mr. Denny K. Crockett will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 1:30 PM at Swain Memorial U. M. Church where friends may visit Monday evening from 7-9 PM. Interment will follow the funeral service in Fairview Lawn Cemetery in Onancock.
