T. Travis Tyler, 89, of Crisfield, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at McCready Memorial Hospital.
Born in Crisfield December 23, 1926, he was a son of the late John Maynard and Minnie Octavia Owens Tyler.
A US Army veteran of World War II, he worked at Rubberset Corporation and the former Carvel Hall Cutlery.
A great nephew of Lem Ward, he was an accomplished decoy carver and model boat builder. He was an excellent self-taught guitar player and enjoyed playing in church and for the MAC Center. He also had a great love for animals and enjoyed taking in and feeding many cats and other critters.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Pauline Dukes Tyler; three children, Ruth Tyler Hudson and husband James of Millsboro, DE, Kathy Tyler Purnell and husband Ron of Crisfield, and Thurman T. Tyler, Jr. and wife Suzanne of Marion; six grandchildren, Fred Hudson, Dinah Brown, R.J. Purnell, Melissa Purnell, Trey Tyler, and Michael Tyler; seven great-grandchildren, Hannah, Caleb, and Maggie Hudson, Joseph and Lincoln Brown, Ian Hoover, and Kaylin Tyler; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Daniel Tyler; two sons that died in infancy; two brothers, Roland Tyler; and Maynard Tyler; and two sisters, Jeanette Bozman and Elizabeth Riggin.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 28, 2016 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be one hour prior. The Rev. Bob Daniels will officiate. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery.
