Sylvia Fay Lawrence, affectionately known as "Miss Fay", passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at her home. She was 90 years of age.

Born in Crisfield on March 11, 1935, she was a daughter of the late George and Edna Pruitt Elliott.  Her husband of 38 years, Donald Lee "Duck" Lawrence, preceded her in death on May 2, 1992.

She was Co-Valedictorian of the Crisfield High School Class of 1954 and worked more than 40 years with Somerset County Schools as an elementary school secretary.

In her younger years she was a faithful member of the former Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.  She enjoyed cooking, reading, crossword puzzles and shopping but her true love was her family.  She loved taking care of and doting on her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by five children, Donald Lee Lawrence, Jr. (Mary) of Pennsburg, PA, April Ford of Millsboro, DE, Judy Lawrence of Crisfield, Cindy Gerald of Crisfield, and Dickie Lawrence of Crisfield; her brother, Phillip Elliott of Crisfield; her grandchildren, Stephanie McCready (Jeff), Charles Ford, III (Christa), Candace Ford (Clairissa), Andrew Lawrence, Deborah Lawrence, and Noah Ford; her great-grandchildren, Steven Pilkerton, Jr. (Carman), Jordon McCready (Danielle), Alexis McCready, Cheyenne Ford, Chelsea Ford, Damien Ford (Laura), and Alyssa McCready (Kayla); her great-great-grandchildren, Allaiah, Alani, Thatcher, Ryleigh, Raelyn, Camila, Graesyn, Kaesyn, and Apollo; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by a son, William T. "Billy" Lawrence; her brothers and sisters, George Elliott, Jr., Danny Thomas Elliott, Brenda Lewis, and Shirley Elliott; and a great-great-granddaughter, Raven.

A funeral service will be Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 1 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be from 12-1 PM.  Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
