Susie Lee Smith, 78, of Crisfield and formerly of Rhodes Point, Smith Island, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Aurora Senior Assisted Living in Princess Anne.

Born in Crisfield and raised on Rhodes Point, Smith Island, she was the daughter of the late Perry Ross and Elizabeth Bradshaw Sneade. Her husband, James Leo "Jimmy" Smith preceded her in death August 23, 2003.

She was a homemaker, seafood worker, and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church on Rhodes Point. She enjoyed being with her family, and especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Charles Laird of Crisfield; two grandchildren, Edwin "Eddie" Laird and his wife LeeAnn of Katie, TX and Tricia Sterling and her husband Shaun of Marion; four great-grandchildren, Emma and Alexandra Laird, and Nicolas and Noah Sterling; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two grandsons, Joseph "Joey" Laird on June 19, 1992 and Jamie Charles Laird on September 29, 1969; and six brothers and sisters, Wesley Sneade, Harvey Sneade, Perry "Binks" Sneade, Jr., Ileen Sneade, Gertrude Gunter, and Jean Pearson.

Graveside funeral services officiated by Rev. Nelson Brenner will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 10:30 AM in Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield. A viewing will be held Tuesday from 9-10 AM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. There will be a procession to the graveside.
