Obituary

SUSAN J. OVERHOLT, 76, of Pocomoke City, died Friday, August 29, 2008 at her home.

Born in Girdletree on July 6, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Milton Edward and Pruella Susan Young Tarr.

She was a homemaker and a member of Goodwill Baptist Church in Pocomoke where she was past choir director, Rehobeth Baptist Church, the Late Bloomers Ministry and the Gideon Auxiliary. She was currently attending Klej Grange Church near Pocomoke City.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Charles Earl Overholt of Pocomoke City; three children, Bruce Wayne Ward, Sr. of Girdletree, Connie Sue Mason of Pocomoke City and Tammy Mae Sterling and husband Trelle of Pocomoke City; seven grandchildren, Bruce Wayne Ward, Jr. of Delmar, Angela Lenee Castillo and Thomas Ward, both of Snow Hill, Nathaniel Jude Miller of Baltimore, Justin Miller of Girdletree, and Christy Lynn McMahon and Tiffany Michelle Sterling, both of Pocomoke City; two great-grandchildren, Ella Rose Miller and Drake Thomas Miller; three step-children, Carroll Lee Overholt and wife Valerie, and Debbie Sue Keitt and husband Jim, all of Pocomoke City, and Lisa Joy Holbrook and husband Junie of Rising Sun, MD; five step-grandchildren, Charles Michael Overholt, Victoria Overholt, Amy Denise Keitt, Jennifer Harsin and Melanie Aydelotte; two step-great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Harsin and Tatum Elizabeth Harsin; one sister, Helen Elizabeth Rutter of Girdletree; and two special friends, Priscilla Ward of Westover and Jane Nunamaker of California.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Edison Ward who died October 22, 1978; a son, Roy Lee Ward who died November 15, 1958; and two stepchildren, Charles Howard and James Earl Overholt.

A viewing will be held Monday, September 1, 2008 from 7-9 PM at Klej Grange Church near Pocomoke City. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. Interment will follow in Quinton Cemetery in Pocomoke City.
