Stephen (Steve) Lawson Ward, age 57, of Dagsboro, DE died Monday, February 17, 2025 at home.

He was born in Easton, MD and was the son of Eugene T. Ward and Lucy Anne (Lawson) Ward.

For the last several years Steve was a caregiver to his wife Betz. Prior to that he delivered furniture for J. Conn Scott, where he met Betz. He loved shooting pool and was on a league most of his life throughout the Eastern Shore.

Steve's wife, Elizabeth "Betz" Moore Lawson Ward passed away on Tuesday February 18th, the day after him. Both were preceded in death by Betz's daughter, Julia Lauren Jaquette.

In addition to his parents, Steve is survived by a son, Stephen Michael Ward of Crisfield, MD; a daughter, Shirley Anne Ward and fiancée Shane of Princess Anne, MD; a stepdaughter, Nickie Carew of Denton, MD; one brother, Eugene T. Ward, Jr. and wife Jessica of Traverse City, MI; two sisters, Gretchen Fritz of Pocomoke City, MD, Lynda Warner and husband Mike of TX; eight grandchildren, Jamyson, Talon, Jack, Bella, Izzie, Ronan, Bram and Eulalie.

A celebration of life for Steve will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Christ Fellowship Bible Church, 5910 Crisfield Highway, Marion Station, MD at 1 pm with visitation from 12-1.

A memorial service for Steve and Betz will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 31, 2025 at the Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home, 19 S. Main Street in Selbyville, DE. A visitation will be held one hour before the service.

Both services will be officiated by Pastor Steve Willing of Christ Fellowship Bible Church.
