Obituary

STANLEY "BUCKY" HARRIS MARSHALL, 83, of Tylerton, Smith Island, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 27, 2011 surrounded by his family at the home of his cousins, Dana and Steve Evans of Salisbury.

Born on Tylerton March 22, 1927, he was the son of the late John T. and Bessie B. Hoffman Marshall.

He was a waterman for over 70 years, and in 2009, was inducted into the Watermen's Hall of Fame by the Crisfield Lions Club.

A US Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Union United Methodist Church on Tylerton, the Tylerton Volunteer Fire Company, and the Stanley Cochrane Post #16 American Legion in Crisfield. He was an avid sports fan, and loved the New York Yankees.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Connie Somers Marshall of Tylerton; two children, Chris Marshall and his wife Sharon of Tylerton and Amy Swanger and her husband Barry "Buck" of Salisbury; six grandchildren, Dillon, Dalton, Drake and Drew Swanger, and Reagan and Cici Marshall; a brother-in-law, Jerry Smith and his wife Mattie of Rhodes Point; a nephew, Jacob Smith of Rhodes Point; and many special cousins.

Funeral services officiated by The Rev. Rick Edmund will be held Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 2 PM at Union United Methodist Church on Tylerton, Smith Island. Friends may call Saturday from 10-11 AM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home or from 7-9 PM at the church on Tylerton. Interment with military honors will be in the Union Church Cemetery.
