Shirley Mae Sterling, 89, of Crisfield, died Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.
Born in Crisfield on December 20, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Wade Hampton and Edna Nelson Cullen. Her husband, Thomas Paul Sterling, died August 9, 2008.
Over the years she worked for various local seafood companies. She enjoyed going out to eat, and shopping and going out with her friend, Diane. She especially loved spending time with her daughter and granddaughters.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Mister and husband Bill of Eden; two granddaughters, Andrea Widdowson and husband Johnny of Salisbury and Gabrielle Mister of Eden; her siblings, Peggy Frock and Jessie Swift of Crisfield, Sarah Mears and Ada Killmon of Bloxom, VA, Edna Lawson of Virginia Beach, Ola Lilliston of Salisbury, and Paul Cullen of Mardela Springs; many nieces and nephews; and her special friend Diane Jones of Pocomoke.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Bobby Cullen, Wade Hampton Cullen, Jr., Mary Lou Hill, and Elmer Cullen.
Funeral services officiated by the Rev. Bob Daniels will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be one hour prior. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
