Shirley Mae Dize, 78, of Crisfield, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional.

Born in Leesburg, VA on July 6, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Lee and Ruby L. Carnes Asbury. Her husband, Jay Dize preceded her in death on April 3, 2002.

Shirley was a caregiver and attended Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Salisbury. She loved walking, doing word searches, and sunbathing.

She is survived by her daughters, Brigitte Martin of Crisfield and Pam Ricketts of Conowingo, MD; grandchildren, Ryan Slipper of Stevensville, MD, Billy Schlegel of Fitzgerald, GA, Paige Ricketts of Conowingo, MD, Laura Ricketts, of Crisfield, and Cody Ricketts of Conowingo, MD; step mother, Betty Rogers of Jefferson, MD; half siblings, Clyde Asbury, Jr. and Benny Asbury, both of Wolfsville, MD, Joe Asbury of Hagerstown, MD, and Keith Asbury of Jefferson, MD; and a great-grandchild, Travis Chandler.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandchild, Chelsea Reese.

A memorial service with urn burial will be held at a later date at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frederick, MD.
