Sgt. Ralph S. Justice, Sr., US Army (Ret.), 86, of Crisfield, answered his final call to enter into God's Army on Friday, August 24, 2018 from Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.
Born in Crisfield January 5, 1932, he was a son of the late John Tubman Justice and Ethel Katharine Parks Justice. His wife, Conchita Ann Nelson Justice, preceded him in death on December 23, 2003.
A Korean War veteran, he retired from the US Army National Guard as S/SGT E-6. He also worked at the former Carvel Hall Cutlery, the former Mrs. Paul's Kitchen, and retired from the Crisfield Housing Authority.
He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School and was Sr. Lay Speaker. He was one of the first Lay Speakers in the Peninsula Delaware Conference. He was also a member of the Stanley Cochrane Post #16 American Legion.
Ralph was known for his oyster sandwiches which he loved to make as well as apple pies and biscuits for loved ones, friends, and his church. He enjoyed teaching the Bible, telling people about the Lord, and swimming in his younger years. He loved people, his church family, his children, his grandkids, and his cherished little dog, "Daisey Mae".
He is survived by two children, Donna A. Smart and husband David and Ralph S. Justice, Jr. and wife Bonnie, all of Crisfield; his brother, Rev. Arthur F. Justice and wife Arlene of Edgewood, MD; grandchildren, Ryan and Christie Sterling of Marion, Matt and Chasity Sterling of Mt. Vernon, Tim, Jr. and Ashley Linton of Crisfield, Chris and Elizabeth Justice of Westover, Katy Smart of Crisfield, Brandon and Lori Linton of Willards, and Daniel Smart of Crisfield; great-grandchildren, Matthew Sterling, Alex Linton, Micah Sterling, Caleb Sterling, Cameron Linton, and Gabriel Linton; a special great-granddaughter, Kylie Hammond; special brother-in-law, George "Ackie" Nelson and wife Rose Ann of Crisfield; special neighbors, Patsy Seyda and Laura Davis of Crisfield; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Along with his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Katharine Sue Justice Linton; two brothers, his twin, Randall Justice, and Harry Lee Justice; and his half brothers and sisters, Edward Justice, Norman Justice, Sr., Lillian Ireland, and Ida Goodrow.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be one hour prior. Rev. Arthur Justice will officiate and speakers will be Pastor Matt Sterling, Pastor Ryan Sterling, and Rev. Dr. Shirlyn Henry-Brown. Interment with military honors will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
