SELENA C. WEBSTER, 94, of Deal Island, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.
Born in Wenona on November 16, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Willie and Ruth Northam Thomas. Her husband, Edward Webster, preceded her in death in 1982.
A graduate of Deal Island High School, she was a homemaker and retired US Postal Service employee working at the Deal Island and Wenona Post Offices before her retirement in 1986.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Wenona, and after she married, also attended St. John's United Methodist Church in Deal Island where she taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the MAC Center in Deal Island. Mrs. Webster was a wonderful singer, and a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children who were her devoted caregivers for the past 26 months, Janice Daniels and her husband Rev. Bob Daniels of Crisfield and Jeffrey Webster of Deal Island; four grandchildren, Eddie Daniels and his wife Debbie and Bobby Daniels and his wife Robin, all of Crisfield, Jonathan Daniels and his wife Nicole of Westover, and Jason Daniels and his wife Erica of Rehobeth; a sister, Kathleen Noble of Oriole; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Along with her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Iris Holdway.
A celebration of her life will be held Friday, April 29, 2011 at 12 Noon at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Wenona where friends may call two hours prior to the service. The Rev.'s Lloyd Foard and Bob Daniels will officiate. Interment will follow in St. John's Church Cemetery in Deal Island.
