Obituary

Sarah E. Crockett, 88, of Tangier Island, died on Monday, December 25, 2006 at her home.

Born at Tangier she was the daughter of the late Willard and Nellie Marshall Crockett. Her husband, Charlie B. Crockett died June 28, 1989.

A homemaker she was a member of the Swain Memorial United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and active in the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the AARP and the former Daughters of America Lodge.

Surviving are a daughter, Dottie Evans and husband, Roger of Tangier, Ella Crockett of Orlando, FL, and Jo Crockett of Heathsville, VA., 5 grandchildren, Roger Evans, Allen Evans, Katie Eskridge, Amy Eskridge, and Anna Eskridge, 3 great-grandchildren, Rebecca Evans, Elisha Evans, and Curtis Evans, and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Freddie Dale Crockett, sisters, Thelma Clark, Eva Pruitt, Bessie Parks, Rita Pruitt, Lucy McCready, brothers, Charles Crockett and Willie Crockett.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at 1:30 P.M. at the Swain Memorial United Methodist Church on Tangier where friends may call Wednesday after 7 P.M. The Rev. John Jones and her daughter, Ella Crockett, will officiate. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield where the Rev. Strickland Crockett will do the committal service.
