SARA McGRATH ANDREWS, 89, of Pocomoke City, died Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at Salisbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salisbury.
Born in Crisfield October 26, 1917, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Addie Mae Mills McGrath. Her husband, James F. Andrews died October 15, 1990. She had been making her home in Pocomoke City since 1954, and was a former resident of Memphis, Tennessee.
A retired registered nurse, Mrs. Andrews graduated from the Lynchburg, Virginia General Hospital School of Nursing. She was a US Navy Nurse Corps veteran serving in World War II and was discharged with the rank of Lt. JG. She also worked at the McCready Memorial Hospital in Crisfield. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Marion Station.
Mrs. Andrews is survived by two sisters, Addie Mae Lawson of Crisfield, and Cathryn Lankford of Marion Station. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert "Bob" McGrath, and John H. McGrath, Jr.; two sisters, Ruth M. Young and Mary Lou Charnick.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Friday, March 30, 2007 at 12 Noon at Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield. Father Mike Lokey will officiate. There will be no viewing
