Ruth Elaine Todd, 76, of Crisfield, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2025 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional.

Born in Crisfield on October 2, 1948, she was the daughter of the late John Calvin Landon, Sr. and Elaine Ford Landon.  Her husband of 43 years, George W. Todd, III, preceded her in death in 2011.

She was a Crisfield High School graduate of the class of 1966 and obtained an Associate's Degree in Chemical Dependency and another in Business Management from Wor-Wic Community College.  Later, she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

Ruth retired from the State of Maryland, having worked for 27 ½ years.  She started her career at the Somerset County Health Department, and later as a Correctional Officer at Eastern Correctional Institution where she retired with the rank of Lieutenant.  Following her retirement, she went on to work at the Alternate Learning Center in Somerset County and as a substitute teacher at Crisfield High School. She truly loved being at the school and working with the children daily. She also was an elected Crisfield City Councilwoman, serving from 1994-1998, and was an appointed Crisfield City Councilwoman from 2023-2024.

She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, George W. "Toddie" Todd, IV and wife Amy and Jonathon W. Todd and wife Angie; her grandchildren, Alex Todd and wife Kaylee, Samantha Gillis and husband Spencer, Jonathon W. Todd, Jr. and wife Alexis, Amaya Todd, Brooks Wooster and wife Jasmine, Robert Cvetko, and Elaina Cvetko; great-grandchildren, Jameson, Aubrey, Donovan, Rafe, Oaklynn, and Karson; her sister-in-law, Jan Caldwell; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Dee Todd in 2016; and her brother, John Calvin Landon, Jr. in 2010.

A memorial service will be held Monday, September 29, 2025 at 5 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a visitation will be from 4:30 PM – 5 PM.  Pastor Stephen S. Willing will officiate.
