Ruth Catherine Goldsborough Ward, 78, of Crisfield, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.
Born in Crisfield on April 3, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Charles "Chalky" and Frances Betts Goldsborough.
She was manager at Captain's Carry Out in Crisfield for more than 30 years. She was known for her cooking and she loved it. She cherished her family and enjoyed cooking for family dinners. She also loved Christmas, giving to others, and was a talented crafter. She was a member of Living Hope Ministries in Marion.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Jackie Ward of Marion; her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Mary Frances and Sam Davis of Crisfield; her grandson, Sam Davis and wife Michele of Marion; her great-grandchildren, Chandler Ward Davis and Sami-Jaden Davis of Marion; her sister, Elmira Ford of Crisfield; two brothers, Charles "Chalky" Goldsborough, Jr. and wife Regina of Crisfield and Johnny Goldsborough and wife Lori of Kingston; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a visitation will be one hour prior. Pastors LeBron Palmer and Matt Sterling will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
