Ronnie L. Stauffer, 66, a resident of Salisbury for the past 43 years, died on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.

Born in Bloomsburg, PA, he was the son of Mary E. Rockwell Stauffer of Catawissa, PA and the late Harold M. Stauffer.

Graduating from Milford High School, Mr. Stauffer held a Criminal Justice degree from Delaware Technical Community College, and a Bachelor of Arts degree and Masters of Education degree from Salisbury University. He was also a graduate of the United States Dept. of Justice FBI National Academy.

Mr. Stauffer retired as Captain with the Salisbury Police Department after 28 years of service. After his retirement with the police force he became Executive Director of Worcester County Commission on Aging until he became ill.

He was a member of the Emmanuel Wesleyan Church in Salisbury, and was an Army National Guard veteran.

Along with his mother, he is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Lula A. Stauffer; three children, Christa L. Mason and husband Kevin of Seaford, Kevin C. Ward and wife Carole of Salisbury, and Micah C. Stauffer and wife Dana of Fruitland; one sister, Susanne Bedworth and husband, Paul of North Tonawanda, NY; four grandchildren, Jessica and Christian Ward and Jenna and Landon Stauffer; and several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 2 P.M. at the Emmanuel Wesleyan Church in Salisbury with the Rev. Thomas C. Bunting officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield.
