Rommel Joyner, Sr., 71, of Crisfield, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at Hartley Nursing and Rehab in Pocomoke City.

Born in Crisfield on October 7, 1954, he was a son of the late Melton and Annabell Townsend Joyner.  His wife, Linda Mae Davis Joyner, preceded him in death on September 8, 2018.

He was a 2nd generation Union Electrician and retired in 2010.  He truly loved his career and he inspired his son and grandson to follow in his footsteps.

Rommel was a former member of Lower Somerset County Ambulance and Rescue Squad, and was a past coach for the Crisfield Little League.  He enjoyed vacationing and spending time with his son and grandchildren.  He also loved going out to eat.

He is survived by his son, Rommel "R.J." Joyner and wife Susanna of Anderson, SC; his grandson, Dustin Joyner and wife Brandi of Crisfield; his granddaughters, Fiona Joyner and Evelyn Joyner of Anderson, SC; his great-grandchildren, Maya Lynn Joyner and Wyatt Owen Joyner of Crisfield; his brothers, Melton Joyner, Jr. and Jordan "Bo" Joyner of Crisfield; his brothers-in-law, Sam Davis and wife Mary Frances of Crisfield and Robert Simonenko of Plantation, FL; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents and his wife he was preceded in death by his daughter, Rachel Lynn Joyner in 1976; his granddaughter, Andrea Nichole Joyner in 2015; his twin-great-grandchildren, Laya and Braydon Joyner in 2013; his sister, Verna Joyner Simonenko; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William R. and Anna Lee Davis.

A viewing will be Tuesday, December 30, 2025 from 7-9 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home.  Pastors LeBron Palmer and Davey Evans will officiate.  Interment will be at a later date in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
