Obituary

Roger Ralph "Bubby" Riggin, Jr., 75, of Crisfield, died Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.

Born in Crisfield October 13, 1941, he was the son of the late Roger Ralph Riggin, Sr. and Lenore Ward Riggin. His wife of 49 years, Ruby Mae Justice Riggin, died December 17, 2015.

He was retired project engineer at Carvel Hall Cutlery and worked there until their closing. He later was public works superintendent for the City of Crisfield and most recently was the courier for McCready Foundation. He also served on the Crisfield City Council in 2004.

He was a life member, past president, and past lieutenant of the Crisfield Fire Department and was a member of the Crisfield Church of God.

He had many hobbies over the years, but most of all he enjoyed flying his ultralight airplane which he built himself. He loved tinkering out in his garage and was without a doubt a Jack of all trades.

He is survived by five children, Lynette Lau and husband Jeff of Princess Anne, Terri Tawes and husband Craig, Jim "Chops" Baker and wife Toni, Kim Richards and husband David, and Roger Ralph "Buggy" Riggin, III and wife Brandi, all of Crisfield; a sister, Mary Hall of Crisfield; a brother-in-law, William "Woozie" Justice and wife Carol of Crisfield; eight grandchildren, Kristin Lau, Spencer Cropper, Austin Baker, Alan Baker, Jr., Amanda Richards, Roger Riggin, IV, Kelsey Riggin, and Evan Riggin; his pet dogs, Sadie and Gordon; and several nieces and nephews.

Everyone is invited to attend a graveside funeral service Friday, February 3, 2017 at 2 PM at Sunnyridge Memorial Park. The Rev. Stephen S. Willing will officiate. There will be no public viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802-1733; Crisfield Fire Department, P.O. Box 591, Crisfield, MD 21817; or Lower Somerset County Ambulance and Rescue Squad, LSCARS, P.O. Box 406, Crisfield, MD 21817.
