Rodney N. Riggin, 60, of Crisfield, died Monday, May 27, 2013 at his home.

Born in Baltimore on November 29, 1952, he was a son of Katherine LaBarre Riggin of Crisfield and the late John Thomas Riggin, Jr. who died in 1990. He had been making his home in Crisfield since 1990.

A graduate from North Carroll High School in Hampstead, he worked in construction. He attended the Crisfield Wesleyan Church and he enjoyed hunting and cooking.

Along with his mother, Katherine L. Riggin, he is survived by his wife, Carol Lynn Wroten Riggin of Crisfield; three children, Rodney Riggin, Jr. and wife Jennifer of York, PA, Christopher Riggin and wife Carrie of Westminster and Lisa Smith and husband Steven of Crisfield; a sister, Donna Wolfe and husband Derwin of Westminster; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Thomas Riggin, III in 1995; and a sister, Jacqueline Faye "Jackie" Mooney in 2009.

A memorial service officiated by Rev. Bob Daniels will be held Friday, May 31, 2013 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where the family will receive friends one hour prior.

In lieu flowers, the family requests donations in his memory to be sent to the Crisfield Fire Department, P.O. Box 591, Crisfield, MD 21817.
