Dr. Robert Willis Thomas, Jr., 82, of Crisfield, died Monday, April 4, 2016 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.
Born in Front Royal, Virginia on February 2, 1934, he was the son of the late Robert Willis and Eva Hash Thomas.
A graduate of the Medical College of Virginia, Dr. Thomas was a pharmacist and owner of Peyton Pharmacy in Crisfield from 1961 until their closing in 1988. He was active in the former Crisfield Rotary Club and the Crisfield Elks Lodge #1044. He loved golfing, and was an avid Redskins fan.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sara Jane "Sally" Sparks Thomas; two sons, William M. Thomas and wife Angela of Selma, NC and Robert Willis Thomas, III of Chandler, AZ; four grandchildren, Erica Alexis Thomas of Selma, David Thomas and Amy Thomas of Indiana, and Rachel Thomas of California.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Jean Thomas and Marie Thomas Walker.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 3-4 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield.
