Robert Vance Carey, 56, of Crisfield, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 19, 2025.

Born in Crisfield on April 21, 1969, he was a son of John Cleveland Carey, II of Crisfield and the late Mary Elizabeth Dashiell Carey.

He was a caretaker for his father and was Hearth and Grill Manager and Store Manager for Ace Hardware for 15 years.

He loved his family more than anything. He was an avid outdoorsman and nature enthusiast. He was an extremely hard worker and loved helping others. He was a wonderful artist. He loved Jesus and his Lord and Savior. He loved his country, history, working on cars, and football.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his daughter, Catherine Elizabeth "Bizzy" Carey Erving and her husband Steven Erving, II of Willards; his grandchildren, Lyam Erving, Sean Erving, and Chase Erving; his aunts and uncle, Barbara Underwood, Suzanne and Don Ford, and Sharon Dashiell; and many special cousins and life-long friends.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Cleveland Carey, III; an aunt, Cecile Watson; and an uncle, Alfred Thomas Dashiell.

A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 2 PM at the gravesite of his brother in Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield.  Rev. Stephen S. Willing will officiate.
