ROBERT E. "BOBBY" FORD, 76, of Crisfield, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 from McCready Memorial Hospital in Crisfield of pulmonary fibrosis.

Born in Crisfield on June 14, 1932, he was a son of the late Oris William and Wilma Freeny Webster Ford.

He was a retired waterman, and previously worked at the former Carvel Hall Cutlery and Mrs. Paul's Kitchens, both Crisfield.

A member of the National Guard, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and sitting at his nephew Sonny's Store, Crisfield Paint & Carpet. He loved his daughter, grandchildren, and his church, Crisfield Wesleyan.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 59 years, Gloria Fay Evans Ford, of Crisfield; his devoted daughter, Sandy Sturgis and husband Carroll, of Crisfield; three grandchildren, Jessica, Kristina and Robert Sturgis, all of Crisfield; two sisters and one brother, Lula Mae Dize, Joan Lawson and husband, Oliver "Tuts" and Jackie Ford and wife Dottie, all of Crisfield; a brother-in-law, Jerry Evans and wife Myrna, of Crisfield; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William "Sonny" Ford.

Funeral services officiated by Rev.'s Robert and Jonathan Daniels will be held Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 2:30 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call Friday evening from 7-9 and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield.
