Robert Lee "Bobby" Balderson, 80, of Crisfield, died Thursday, December 7, 2017 at his home.

Born in Crisfield on September 14, 1937, he was a son of the late William Cephas Balderson and Elizabeth Ann Byrd Tyler. His wife of 55 years, Doris Faye Balderson, died May 20, 2012.

He was a shipping/receiving supervisor at Rubberset Corp. in Crisfield working 32 years before his retirement.

A member of Crisfield Wesleyan Church, he enjoyed working in his yard, woodworking with his brother, Bill, and spending time with family, friends, and his beloved dog "Maggie". He was also an incredible athlete in his younger years and loved to bowl and play softball.

He is survived by his daughter, Valerie Howard and husband Tim of Crisfield; his brother, Bill Balderson and wife Betty of Crisfield; cousins, Susie Strobel who was raised as a sister, Barbara Ward, Johnny Byrd, and Jack Byrd; a special sister-in-law, Jean Blades; and several nieces, nephews, and a special neighbor, Edie Schrieber.

Along with his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Lee Balderson in 1979; an infant brother; and two cousins, Ken Byrd and Raymond Sterling.

Funeral services will be Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where a visitation will be one hour prior. The Reverends Bob Daniels and Steve Willing will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery in Marion Station.
