Rita Mae Harris, 91, of Crisfield, passed away May 22, 2022 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional.

Born in Deal Island on April 3, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Lola Mae White Abbott. Her husbands, Charles Elwood Ford and John Harris preceded her in death.

Rita was a seafood worker and also worked in home health care for the elderly. She loved playing BINGO, word searches, and enjoyed flowers and gardening.

She is survived by her children, Michael White, Sr. and Charles Ford, Jr., both of Crisfield, and Carole Leach of Disputanta, VA; siblings, Albert Culbertson and wife Diane of Marion, Gordon Abbott and wife Kim of DE, and Larry Abbott and wife Ethel, and Jerry Culbertson, all of Crisfield; grandchildren, Michael White, Jr., Noah Ford, Stephanie McCready and husband Jeff, Charles Ford, III and wife Christa, and Candace Ford and partner Clairissa; great-grandchildren, Steven Pilkerton and wife Carman, Jordon McCready and wife Danielle, Alexis McCready, Cheyenne Ford, Chelsea Ford, Damien Ford, and Alyssa Ford; several great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat "Charlie".

Along with her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Thomas Abbott, James "Bones" Abbott, and Jack B. " Jackie" Abbott.

Memorial services will be at a later date.
