Richard Arland "Dickie" Mister, 70, of Crisfield, died Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield.
Born in Crisfield, he was a son of the late James and Florance Landon Mister.
Over the years he worked at the former Spires Service Station, the former Holsum Bakery, Rubberset Corp. and retired from Carvel Hall Cutlery.
He loved playing cards, hence his nickname "Queenie", and he loved going to Gordon's to drink coffee and spend time with his friends.
He is survived by Holly Kauffman (Wayne Foxwell), his caretaker whom he thought of as his daughter, and whom she thought of as her father, and her children, Jessica Kauffman (Ryan Wooster), Harley Foxwell (Christopher Richardson), and Jaylyn Foxwell, all of Crisfield; two brothers, Greg Mister of Crisfield and Roy Spires of Delmar, DE; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, Billy Spires, Jimmy Lee Mister, Jacqueline Mister, and Deborah Horner.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 11 AM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. Pastor David Diskin will officiate. Urn interment will be in Crisfield Cemetery.
