Obituary

Richard Eugene "Dickie" Cooper, 78, of Crisfield, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at his home.

Born in Baltimore on December 6, 1944 he was a son of the late Eugene Michael and Mary McGovern Cooper.

Dickie was a retired US Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War and retired after 22 years of service.

He was a happy-go-lucky man who thoroughly enjoyed life. He loved to eat, and loved cooking and grilling.  He also enjoyed riding around with his close friend who was like a brother, Johnnie Cooper. He loved being in his room and loved being with his beloved dog and cat, Bella and Mary.

He is survived by close friends who were like family, Johnnie and Elsie Cooper, Mandy Cauble, Lori Harrison, Katie Pruitt, and Crystal Swift; his children, Richard Barry Cooper, Chucky Cooper, Brian Cooper, and Gregory Cooper; sister, Sue Zack; and nieces, Nancy Sanders and Patricia Matney;

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Cooper.

A memorial service will be held at the American Legion Post #16 in Crisfield on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 2 PM.
