Richard Raymond Abbott, Sr., 63, of Crisfield, died Monday, June 5, 2023 at his home.

Born in Crisfield on March 15, 1960, he was a son of the late Harold and Jessie Rich Abbott.

He was a mechanic and a graduate of Crisfield High School.  He loved working on cars, fishing, woodworking, gardening, and drag racing.  Over the years he built several cars with his son.  He also loved his pets and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Linda Abbott of Crisfield; three children, Richard Raymond "Rick" Abbott, Jr. and fiancé Monica Wegt of Marion, Jennifer Sterling and husband Darrell of Crisfield, and Nick Jantz of Baltimore; a brother, Kenneth Abbott of Smyrna; grandchildren, Damon, Jensen, Nevaeh, Mason, "Fan", and another grandson on the way; several nieces and nephews; and many friends and other relatives.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Joyce, who died in infancy; and a brother, David Abbott.

Funeral services will be Monday, June  12, 2023 at 1 pm at Bradshaw and Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be one hour prior. Pastor Jim Evans will officiate.
