Obituary

Rebecca Hope White, age 86, of Crisfield, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. Rebecca, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Born on January 24, 1940, in Crisfield, Rebecca was the cherished daughter of the late John Walter Tyler, Sr. and Lillian Marie Thomas Tyler. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert L. "Bob" White, who passed away on August 21, 1991. Rebecca's legacy lives on through her devoted children along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the lights of her life.

Rebecca dedicated her early career as a seamstress in local sewing factories and later worked in retail at Benjamin's and Hess Apparel. Her love for learning inspired her to attend Wor-Wic Community College, where she earned several certificates. She went on to have a successful career as a secretary for Handy's Seafood and as a rental agent with Long & Foster Realty in Ocean Pines.

A faithful member of the Crisfield Church of God, Rebecca found joy in attending the Golden Harvest senior fellowship gatherings. She cherished the moments spent sharing laughter and lunch with friends, diving into her favorite books-especially her Bible-and enjoying watching her favorite soap operas on television.

She is survived by three children, Deborah J. Bozman (Doug), Robert L. White, Jr., and Tamara H. Reese; two brothers, J. Walter Tyler, Jr. and Harvey L. Tyler; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary R. Tyler; and a grandson, Joshua T. Marshall.

Graveside funeral services to honor Rebecca's life will be held Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 2 PM at Sunnyridge Memorial Park. Her brother, Rev. Harvey L. Tyler, and her daughter, Tamara H. Reese, will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Coastal Hospice at the Lake, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802-1733.

In this time of sorrow, let us hold dear the cherished memories of Rebecca and take comfort in knowing she is in the presence of the Lord.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." ~John 3:16
