Rebecca Lynn “Becky” Ward, 71, of Crisfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Nassawadox, Virginia, on August 4, 1955, she was the daughter of Frances Shrieves Young of Salisbury and the late William Young, who passed away on December 9, 2023.

A graduate of Bennett High School, Class of 1973, Becky dedicated many years of her life to caring for others as a registered nurse before her retirement. She was a longtime member of the former Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, where she founded the Anna’s Circle.

Becky had a special love for decorating and preparing for Christmas, her favorite holiday of the year. She delighted in planning family gatherings and would often begin preparing meals weeks in advance. A talented and creative crafter, she enjoyed making beautiful flower arrangements and creating many other handmade treasures. She also loved shopping, thrifting, and antiquing.

Above all, Becky cherished her family. She found her greatest joy in spending time with those she loved and especially treasured being a grandmother. She adored her grandchildren and took great delight in doting on them, creating memories that they will carry with them always. Her warmth, creativity, generosity, and love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her mother, Frances Young, she is survived by her husband of 50 years, James Warren “Jinx” Ward, Jr. of Crisfield; two daughters, Jocelyn Tremper (Michael) of Princess Anne, and Corey Bivens (Jason) of Crisfield; a brother, William Young, Jr. (Judy) of Salisbury; a sister, Sandy O’Bryant of Salisbury; four grandchildren, Ella Pruitt, Eli Tremper, Carson Tremper, and Liam Bivens; and three step-grandchildren, Joshua Tremper, Shardenay Simmons, and Jason Bivens, Jr.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her in-laws, Warren and Elizabeth “Lib” Ward; and a special aunt, Bea Pryor.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 12 pm at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Harvey Tyler officiating. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
