Raymond Anthony Tremper, 87, of Crisfield, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016 of natural causes at McCready Hospital.
He was born in Perry Hall, Maryland on January 17, 1929 to John Francis and Mary Barbara Zimmerer Tremper.
He served in the US Army in the Korean War building airstrips. After the war he worked as a cement mixer driver for Clark Concrete which was bought by Flintcote and later Genstar.
He was a member of the American Legion Posts 130 and 16, as well as a member of the VFW Post 6506 in Rossville, Maryland. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, gardening, and was an avid reader. He also followed NASCAR and the Baltimore Orioles.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Catherine Quick Tremper; a son, Anthony Tremper and his wife Karen of Marion Station; a daughter, Brenda Buford and her husband Paul of Middle River, Maryland; three grandchildren, Michael Tremper and his wife Jocelyn of Princess Anne, Brooke Buford of Alexandria, Louisiana, and John Tremper of Marion Station; three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Eli and Carson Tremper of Princess Anne; a sister, Dorothy Woelfer of Middle River; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Tremper; and a sister, Margaret Bristow.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, September30, 2016 at 1:30PM at the American Legion Post #16 in Crisfield.
